Customize the QRcode of HCL Sametime Web 11.5

HCL Sametime

​HCL Sametime v 11.5 se puede usar desde​ ​un teléfono, un cliente notes o un navegador.

La interfaz vez permite acceder a un QRCode.

​ Un usuario puede sacar una foto a este QRCode y tener automáticamente HCL Sametime App configurado en su dispositivo Android o iOS.

 

Pasos a seguir:

  • Editar el fichero stproxyconfig.xml dentro de c:/sametimeproxy/conf
  • Añadir la parte en negrita.

  • Guardar y reiniciar el servidor Proxy

Atención: ciertos teléfonos ANDROID tienen un lector de código QR nativo que no pasa bien los parámetros a la App Sametime. Así no funciona la configuración.

Usando una App descargada del Play Store, funciona.

 

El soporte de HCL anuncia una mejora con la integración en Sametime de un lector de código QR. Para cuando ? Marzo - Junio...

- The 'native' qr code reader (the camera on our android device) simply doesn't do what is needed - thats why a separate QR reader is required. Because this is different than the iOS 'native' qr code reader. However, our Mobile development team has confirmed that the issue with the 'native' Android QRCode reader is they are not consistent.
If you have a modern and current Android device some of them work as expected, though depending on manufacturer of device they may still not work. Older Android devices (i.e., Android 9 or older) it does not work at all.
But we are planning to improve by embedding a QR code reader in the Sametime app.
That way we can point the users to that QR code reader which will work for the config code QR regardless of version of Android or device. We are sure the next question will be when ;), to be honest we don't have a specific answer for that yet.
Our development team are planning to releasing 11.5.2 in Feb, it is not ready for that. Our hope is to get it in a late March release, though at this point we can't guarantee about it and also the release date...
